Advanced Customvue treatments are customized to the unique individualities of the patient's eyes. The WaveScan Wavefront System has the technology to measure the unique imperfections that are found in everybody's vision. Using this data, a special map of the patient's vision is created called a wavefront. Your wavefront is uniquely yours. Just like your fingerprint, it belongs only to you. This wavefront or wavescan provides 25 times more precision than non-wavefront methods. The WaveScan Wavefront System transfers the instructions for an Advanced Customvue laser treatment to the laser allowing patients an unprecedented level of precision and accuracy in laser vision correction.
The data in the FDA clinical study submitted for Customvue Technology was amazing. The following was reported at the one year mark after treatment with VISX Customvue*:
- Without glasses or contacts, 100% of study participants could pass a driving test
- Without glasses or contacts, 98% of study participants could see 20/20 or better
- Without glasses or contacts, 70% of study participants could see 20/16 or better
Another outcome of this study was the improvement that occurred in night vision with Customvue treatments. Four times as many participants in the study rated their night time vision as "very satisfied" when compared to how their night vision was before was glasses or contacts.
